We’ve had a fun summer spending time socializing with each other, playing lots of Bingo, watching movies, talking current events, and spending time outside enjoying the changing season. We have been very fortunate to have Gene still bringing fresh vegetables from his garden; how lucky we are that he still remembers us and brings us so many yummy things. Then Robin makes the best dishes with all the fresh vegetables..YUM! Some of us have filled our Bingo jars with beans so Jennifer and Robin took us to Kiwi Loco for some DELICIOUS frozen yogurt...what a treat it was! I think we’ll have to keep doing that for sure….double win for us...more bingo and Kiwi Loco more often once we fill up our jars with Bingo beans..TOO FUN! Thanks for all your visits, we surely enjoy them. Tell your friends about our empty rooms so we can have new friends move in!
Wow!!! Is summer almost over? By the calendar it appears so but it seems the summer weather just arrived not too long ago. It’s sure lovely out here at Stoney Creek, some of us really enjoy walking the lane or sitting under a shade tree visiting one another or the neighbor across the fence; it’s so peaceful and quiet.
We so look forward to having some new friends move in, please spread the word about this great place and that we have two available rooms...word of mouth is huge but we don’t get out much to share our feelings; only with one another here.
We have been enjoying our visitors, thank you for coming to see us, it really makes our day. See ya soon.
Time seems to slip by soooo fast that we’ve decided to focus on doing a quarterly newsletter; Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter….As you can see by our picture in the lower left corner...Spring is trying to move in and overcome Winter but, it seems to be a back and forth battle so far. We have a couple of new ladies living here that we are excited to have. There names are Lydia and Gladwin….and boy are they fierce competitors at daily bingo! We are looking forward to all Spring has to offer; sunshine, flowers, sunshine, trees and shrubs growing again, sunshine, Easter celebration and crafts, and did we mention sunshine yet…...and warmer weather?? We have celebrated some good birthdays….six in all counting the staff birthdays. We were given flowers on our birthdays….which helped us to feel special. Valentines Day was a hit; we had a dance….yes we danced! St. Patrick’s Day was fun also, we had green eggs, green jello, green everything and corned beef and cabbage. Gladwin’s daughter brought out the cookies for us to decorate, than you!
We’re sure that JoAnn has something cooking for some Spring or Easter time crafts and activities; we can hardly wait….she always does such fun things…..there’s rumor of some very large eggs to decorate….which will be fun. We have been enjoying our visitors, thank you for coming to see us, it really makes our day. See ya soon.
The most noticeable change...has been the weather...burrrr. But we have to say that it’s nice to look out upon the winter wonderland ….and be thankful for a nice warm place to call home. JoAnn is getting ready to do some fun decorating. She has arranged for some volunteers to come sing to us and is working with an entity from Jerome that contacted us about getting x-mas gift ideas...apparently they want to make everyone’s Christmas a little brighter.. We are getting ready for a yummy turkey day here at Stoney Creek. We will be having a traditional Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday since many of us will be with our families on Thursday. The week after Thanksgiving we will be putting up the Christmas tree and other decorations. We have a lovely new lady that recently moved in; her name is Trellis and we sure enjoy having her here. She loves to help with anything that is needed. We are sure excited to see all our family at our holiday dinner….Remember...it is on Thursday December 9th at Stoney Creek from 6:30 PM — 8:30 PM. Please RSVP to JoAnn @ 358-3539
It’s been awhile since we’ve done a formal newsletter….we kinda took the summer off. We’ve done a few things since we last wrote. We tied another quilt and plan to do a few more that we can donate somewhere this Christmas….if any of you have some old flannel that you’d like to give us for the quilts, we’d sure love to have it. We’ve decorated around the house and our bedroom doors with fun fall decorations. We’ve tried quite a few new recipes….mostly because of the all the wonderful fresh veggies that Gene and Deanna brought to us, THANK YOU! We have a new hairdresser, her name is Jeni, and we all love her….she even said she may be offering pedicures later this winter….that might be really nice to have our feet pampered. We have a new lady that has moved in with us, her name is Dot. We’ve enjoyed having her here. Her husband, George spends quite a lot of time here with Dot and we encourage you to introduce yourselves to them, they are very nice.
